Job Summary

JOB PURPOSE

The post holder will work within the PCSP team which is placed within the Community Development Department of Council.  The post holder will be responsible for working as part of the Community Safety Warden team which aims to tackle and prevent fear of crime, crime and anti-social behaviour.

The core objectives of the PCSP are to support actions which:

  • Reduce fear of crime and actual crime;
  • Prevent and reduce anti-social behaviour;
  • Liaise with community representatives and Neighbourhood Watch Coordinators;
  • Work on a multi-agency partnership basis with key stakeholders to include PSNI, NIHE, Education Authority, Youth Justice Agency, NIFRS, NI Probation Board and Southern Health and Social Care Trust;
  • Provide information, intervention and preventative programmes.

The main objectives of the ABC PCSP Action Plan are to:

  • Successfully deliver the functions of PCSP for the area;
  • Improve community safety by tackling actual and perceived crime and anti-social behaviour;
  • Support community confidence in policing.
