Job Summary

Reporting to the Head of Organisational Development and Human Resources the post holder will actively contribute to and support the effective implementation and delivery of the HR strategy.

The Human Resources (HR) Business Partner will provide HR support, advice and guidance to Directors, Senior Managers and other staff on all HR matters within their designated Directorate.  The post holder will play a key role in supporting and coaching Managers to build a performance culture aligned to Council behaviours and values.

Working as an integral member of the OD/HR Team the post holder will work closely with the Head of OD/HR and OD/HR Manager and colleagues within the team to ensure a seamless responsive and coordinated approach to the delivery of OD/HR activities.  The HR Business Partner will also develop and maintain key working relationships with Senior Managers in aligned Directorate and with other corporate business partners.

The HR Business Partner may be required to rotate with other areas of expertise within the OD/HR function and other directorates.

Ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all areas relating to the work of the Council.
