This website is operated and controlled by Hallmark Solutions on behalf of the Local Government Staff Commission. Local Government Jobs NI is the shared recruitment portal for Northern Ireland's 26 local authorities. It advertises job vacancies online through a single internet portal managed by Hallmark Solutions. The portal allows candidates in any location to view vacancies and submit applications online to the council advertising the vacancy. Applicants can register to receive job alerts via email. This policy is designed to inform you of Hallmark's commitment to upholding your right to privacy and how Hallmark will handle your personal data when you use localgovernmentjobsni.gov.uk.
Information you supply will be processed by Hallmark Solutions in accordance with the requirements and principles of the Data Protection Act 1998. Hallmark Solutions is registered with the Information Commissioner as a data controller under the following registration number: - Registration No: Z2002818
Information entered onto the Local Government Jobs NI website is stored in a database managed and maintained by Hallmark. The council to which you are applying is given limited access to this database, in order to process your application for a vacancy.
Once the closing date has been reached your application will be downloaded by the council to which you have applied, they are obligated to handle your data in accordance with this policy.
Application forms and personal data
If you choose to apply for a vacancy with one of the councils featured on the portal, the following information will be requested from you and centrally stored on behalf of the recruiting council:
- Contact information e.g. your name, address, email, contact telephone number
- A description of your work experience, skills and education
- Equal Opportunity monitoring information
This information will be used solely for the purposes of recruitment by the personnel department of the recruiting council. It will be made clear to you at the point of submitting your application, that the recruiting council will have access to your data and you will have a final opportunity to opt out of the process.
After you have created an account and/or submitted an application your account will be active, your information will be stored on our system; it is your responsibility to ensure that all data held about you is accurate and up to date. The system will remove all data after one year of inactivity; the system will send out three reminder emails 3 Months / 2 Weeks / 2 Days to give you the opportunity to update your information.
